Athens

Athens where to began! When we hear on the news about the financial crisis that Greece is in, I guess in American we think it doesn't matter it isn't effecting me. But once you are here and see it for your self. WOW. The Greeks are very effected by it. But not nearly as bad as all of the immigrants. Many of the people in Athens are from Afghanistan, Iran and Pakistan. They come from there homes to Europe seeking a better life. But I would think that it is worse. I talked to one guy from Afghanistan he has ben in Athens for six yeas the first four years he was in Athens he lived on the streets. to me it doesn't sound like it would be better. but what do I know. I am so privileged where I live. In America I never have to go to bed hungry to sleep in a park bench. I am so privileged to be a American! One encouraging thing is all of the Afghans that I have talked to Love America and Love the Army and are thankful for what we are doing in Afghanistan.

Most of the work we are doing here in Athens Is working with different organization that are working with the Immigrants and homeless people. (2 of the 3 organizations that I have worked with are American based and the U. S. embassy and some of the Greek churches supplies one of the organizations with clothing for the families) Most of the time the people come to these places at certain times and we would feed them and meal and share the gospel with them. One of the organizations is for families with children and another one is for single men. It is encouraging to see these organizations at work and work along side them and see the people get fed and even more important hearing about Jesus. Most of the people from Afghanistan say they are muslim, but they do not actually practice.

Please be praying for Greece and the hard financial situation that there are in. Also pray that God would give us the strength to keep going strong this the ministers. Also when I see this it reminds me to pray for my country because I do not want to see my country go through what Greece s going through.

Thank you for your prayers

Last Week in Italy

Happy New Year!
This year has already be a very exciting year so far! last week in Cosenza we did a youth camp at a church! It went really well, everybody in my team had a chance to speak at it and the main topic of the week was on hearing Gods voice. I did my talk on Prayer. We also got to do a lot of street evangelism with the youth as well. For some of them it was the first time they did street evangelism but they did a good job. We got to have so really good conversations with the youngsters. And one of our guys played the guitar and he got the play with some young people that and build a connection with them. We didn't convert any to Christ but we got to show Gods love for them through us and just show them that having a relationship with Gods isn't boring that some people make it out to be. We could show them its so much fun and we are really sincere in what we believe. One time me and some of the guys started talking about poker. and I always have a deck of cards with me (you never know when you have time for a game of Euchre) and I got out my cards and showed them how to shuffle and do the bridge and do the spring. because in Europe most people don't know how do shuffle that is just a american thing, and it opened a door to talk with them.

This week we are getting to do a lot more street evangelism and pass out tracts and talk to those that will listen to us. It is real good because the people in Italy are very open and a lot of them know of God because  of the Catholic church but they don't know about a real relationship with Jesus Christ.

Thank you all of your prayers! I am also praying for all of you that God will bless in this New Year.

With Christ

Jayson
