Life At Home

I just thought I would update my blog to let you know what I am doing at home.

I am taking classes at San Jaun College. I am only taking 2 classes this semester, math and Russian. I thought that it would be best just getting back into the swing of things by just taking a few classes. I am also working full time at Pillar Innovations. It is a electrical company that does a lot of work out at the mine. Right now I am just doing a lot of mechanical work in the shop but I have been out to the mine a few times but mostly in the shop. Last week I did my training so that I can legally work out there so Im sure that I will be going out there more often. I am really enjoying my job and what I am doing at school, its nice to get back to this side of life.

Also I have gotten involved with the children's church at my home church. I was involved before I went to ywam. But I am sure enjoying being back there with the kids again. So this is what I am up to sense I have been home! I sure have enjoyed being home there is no place like home!!

The Bible contains more knowledge necessary to man in his present state than any other book in the world.

Home Again

The last 3 and a half weeks have been great. During the two weeks of the Olympics we were working with a church in Coventry. This was a very cool church It was one of the big old kind of churches it was first built in 1108. So it was quite something to be in this church everyday and just looking at the grandness of the church!  Whilst the Olympics where going on the church was running a Cafè inside to try and get people to come inside and we could chat and talk about Jesus. Also the cafè had a Fair-trade focus and so where also where making people aware of the issues of slavery in the world, with sex slavery, child labor and also child soldiers. So there was always something to talk about with everyone. There was about 4 different teams that went out from our YWAM base. The teams varied in size from 5-8 team members. One of the teams was doing a sports olympics in a park they had partnered with one of the local churches to do this and everyday there where some many kids and families that came it was great. I was actually supposed to be apart of this team (because after all I am a sporty kind of fellow) but my very first day in England I broke my foot. I know I mentioned it in my last post that I had hurt it but in fact I broke it so I was on crutches for about 2 weeks there. So I was not able to participate in any sports during my time in England. But it was all ok I know God had me right where He wanted me at the cafè. I met some great people there and had a lot of good talks with some men that came it. All in all it was a great 2 weeks of ministry.

Also during my time in the U.K. I was able to get to do a few fun things as well. I had the  privilege to go to a soccer game in Coventry and watch woman's Great Britain vs Canada play with Rachel and Emily Adams who you may remember joined me in the U.K. We dressed up and had took flags and I think we were very much AAs (Annoying Americans). But all the GB fans where so quiet somebody had to cheer all the time.

When the ministry time was over Rachel Emily and I went for a quick 4 day FAST tour of England and Scotland. We went to see oxford, Windsor castle, London, the white cliffs of Dover then up to Edinburgh and then back down to Nuneaton where we caught our flight the next morning back to the good ol’ USofA!! It was a lot of fun to get to see all these cool places and also to get to do it with very fun people.

The last 4 months has been great! I have got to see God work in so many ways! Grown deeper in my relationship with Him. I have had the chance to get to know great people and finish a YWAM secondary school where I have learned so much about being a long term missionary. I have been so blessed. Thank you all so much for all of your prayers and also financial support. I was very blessed that God took care of the finances for this I never had to worry. So thank you all so very very much.

In a week or so ill try and up date this again and let you know what and how I’m doing back home.

In the U.K. for the 2012 Olympics

I made it safely to England for the 2012 Olympic outreach. I am in Nuneaton England at the YWAM base The Kings Lodge. This is the base that Cindee was on staff at for a number of years and I got to come visit here several times. So its very cool to be back here and see the place again. It is also amazing how many of the people here remember who I am. Also it is also very fun to hear a lot of stories about Cindee and Chris.

I will be here in the U.K for a little over 3 weeks. We will be doing outreach in the city of Coventry. I actually won't be going to London during the Olympics for outreach. Coventry is where a lot of the Soccer games are taking place. During the outreaches we will be working with the local churches in Coventry. Which I think is really good because its the local church that will be here long after we are gone, so I'm glad that we can partner with them. Im not quite sure what exactly sure what stuff we will be doing but I'm sure we will be busy. Tomorrow (Friday) will be our first day so I'm very exited to see what is in store for us. Also I had to friends come from Farmington come and join me here Rachel and Emily Adams. It was good to see them again and to have them here with me during the outreach.

I just have a prayer point. When I got here we had like a team building time and we where playing ultimate frisbee. While I was playing I hurt my left foot really bad, my guess to what happened is I  pulled the tendon on the top of my foot that attaches to the knuckle on my big toe. And o man does is hurt and its pretty difficult to walk. I know this make me sound kinda lame but I would sure appreciate your prayers.

Thank you very much Jayson

My Last Two Weeks In Germany

Hello, sense my last update I have been quite busy. We have continuing to do outreaches in the villages  in this regain, as well as continuing to do have our classes. During the outreaches we have had a couple of chances to go into a night club and do some evangelism in there and pray and I know the the spiritual atmosphere has indeed changed. We have also had a few chances to go back to the bar that I mentioned in my last update. In the next two weeks our plane is to do door to door evangelism in two of the villages. We have been going and preparing the way with lots of prayer, so now we believe that the spiritual atmosphere is now ready and we pray that the people will be open to hear the gospel  message.

The speaker we had two weeks ago she, well I don't know how to say it, but she works a lot in the prophetic. And she spoke something into my life that was very true and very timely! It encouraged me a lot and also challenged me a lot. Last week we did a course called the Kairos course. It included missions in the Bible Old and New Testaments, missions in world history, what is left in missions that we need to accomplish, mission strategy, and did some things preparing us for Cross-Cultural situations. It was a very busy week but it was very good! We I get home I look forward to reading my book over again at a slower pace to try and get even more out of it.

Just a brief look into the future.

I will be in Germany for 2 more weeks finishing up the school and doing a lot of evangelism. After the school is over I will be going to Holland for 3 days with the Dutch couple that is doing the school with me. After the three days in Holland I will be going to the UK to be working with YWAM during the Olympics. Two of my friends Rachel and Emily Adams from back home will be meeting me in England to work with me. During the three weeks we will be working with YWAM Kings Lodge which is the place that my sister Cindee was on staff at for a number of years. So I am very excited to get to go back there. The last time I was there was 8 years ago so it will be good to go back. I am not sure what exactly we will be doing. I am the kinda of person Ill do what ever kind of outreach there is. Im just excited to see how God will use us during those three weeks.

If you are wanting to pray for us doing the Olympics I would really appreciate it. You can pray for us strength, for traveling mercies, for the different outreaches will be doing. Thank you very much for your prayers.

The Last Month

THe Last 4 weeks have been really good. We had four very good speakers the topics where on Biblical world view, Strategic mission thinking, mobilization, and this week is on Church Planting. All of the weeks where very good. My favorite one of the 4 was the one on Biblical World View. The speaker was a professor at a Christian University in Lithuania and has been a missionary for 20 years and a pastor for about 15 years. But he is incredibly smart! He took us back to when the whorl began and then ended up now and talked to us about where we come from where Christians come from. It was just a really good week I like things about world view it was a lot of history and I like that! It was by far my favorite week of lecture sense I have ben in YWAM. Don't get me wrong all of the weeks have been real good and the speakers really good but that was just the best.

We also joined in with one of the churches here in Herrnhut and there was a 100 hours of continuous prayer. So we joined in, we also lead some of the prayer times I helped lead one of the times in prayer for the persecuted church. It was a really good time. As a school we were also doing a fast we could choose how long we wanted to do it. It was a great time of God showing me things and speaking to me. In my personal times of prayer a lot of it was for my country. I believe that America is in a very important point and it is a make it or break it moment. So I spent a lot of time in prayer for that.

We also have ben doing outreach in the surrounding villages, It was 2 times a week in the afternoons. Now we have also included night prayer walks in some of the villages. We go a lot of the time from 10pm to 2am and we have had some really good times one time we where doing prayer and worship outside a bar and they invited us inside the bar and let us do prayer and worship in there. We have got to do a lot or really cool things. I really enjoy the night prayer times. It just seems like they are more powerful when they are done at night, I don't know. On saturday I will be going to G örlitz a town not to far away from where we live and we will be joining in on the global day of outreach and doing street ministry and things of that nature so I am very excited for that as well.

This is a cool video that we saw in one of our weeks of lecture.
I thought I would show it you you.

Week 1

This was my first week back! It has been a very good week I have enjoyed it. I have been adjusting to the time change very well, fortunately I adjust pretty easy. The First week of my school was very good. There is 8 people in my school which is good 5 of them where in my Discipleship training school with me, so I am glad to be with some of the people I know. I am staying in a house that is about a 40 minute walk away from the wasserschloß or the Base where we eat and do have the lecture everyday. We are required to go to a 6 o'clock prayer 3 days a week but it is my goal to try and go all 5 days a week and try and get the discipline I would like to have in my prayer life.

The leader is Sam Hoffmann he is a mighty man of God he spent 18 years as a missionary in India so he really knows what it is like to be a long term missionary. Because the school will really be preparing us for when we become long term missionaries he is a very good man to lead the school.  He was the one giving us our lectures this week. The were kinda preparing us for what the rest of the school will look like. It was lot of getting started in long term missions and also looking as missionaries in the Bible and ho whey did it. It was a very good week I enjoyed it and I am also looking forward to what the rest of my time in the has to offer. There will be a different speaker coming to speak to us every week so it won't always be the same speaker every week. Also on tuesdays and Fridays we will be doing outreaches into the city. It was rally good on Friday I got to Play cricket with some guys from Pakistan it was a lot of fun building relationships with them.

If y'all don't mind praying for a few things.

#1 pray for me during the school that God will show everything He has for me and I won't miss anything and also for the strength to get up and go to the 6 am prayer meetings.

#2 also for a openness with the guys from pakistan that I will have continued opportunities to tell them about Jesus.

Thank y'all very much and God Bless

DTS Is Over

It has ben a Awesome 6 months, God has revealed Himself to me in so many new ways. And I also met so many young people that are on fire for God! Over and over again I got to see Gods faithfulness.

The Last 3 weeks were very good! We got to go on a Faith walk witch is where you don't take any money and you just go where God tells you and you get to see Him provide for you. There was a group of 5 of us and we went out with nothing. Some groups took sleeping bags and there backpacks with extra clothes. But my group didn't take anything, I took my toothbrush :) It was awesome we always had a place to stay and we never missed a meal It was such a amassing time to of watching God provide for us. The last 2 weeks where back in Herrnhut we had lecture the 2nd to last week each one of our staff spoke to us for the last time. They spoke what was on there heart, preparing us to go back home. The last week they talked to us a little bit more about going home, it was really good. On thursday night was our graduation night. we had our graduation it was a good time. Afterward we ended with worship! It was so good! It was a awesome time to end the school with worship.

Also I will be headed home very shortly! America, green chili, Dr. Pepper, Hamburgers, just America!!

Dutch Pancakes

The Last week I was in Heerde Holland, I had the privilege of staying with a host family while I was there. There was a very fun family to be with, when we first arrived there was American flags on a few of the doors so that was really special. The husband of the family spoke broken english and broken german enough where I could understand him. While we were there we did some a lot of street evangelism and had a few good talks with people. We had nobody come to Christ from it but God can work in there life. One of the Ladies that two of the girls in my group was staying with, she invited us over one afternoon and here grandson also came who wasn't a Christian and we got to talk to him, he didn't give his life to Christ that day but he did the next day PTL! We also did a program in a few youth services and also in a Church service that was broadcast on the radio. We shared what we did on outreach and shared some encouraging testimony and a few times some of us preached. We also went into some homes where then have small groups and we got to go there and share some more with them. It was a really good week I really enjoyed it. We got to do a lot of different things, building up the church like Paul talks about a lot, and also street evangelism talking to people about Christ. Another really fun thing is they ride bike everywhere, so i got to ride a bike from the house i was staying to the house where we would meet every morning that was really fun and it is so flat that it is really easy, it something that I wouldn't hardly do at home. It was such a good week God is good!!

Amsterdam

I have been in Amsterdam for about a week now and on saturday morning I am going to a Dutch village and we will be doing a lot of street evangelism and also we will doing speaking in Churches about what God did on our outreach! I am also really excited for this next week. While we are here in Amsterdam it has ben a week of debrief about our 9 weeks of outreach and also a week to recover from all of the work and the busy schedules that we had. The debriefs have gone well it has really helped me to look back and remember things and bring back to my remembrance of what we saw God do on outreach and how God worked through us. It has been a very good week.

So hopefully I will have a little bit more to share next time I update my blog.

Athens

Athens where to began! When we hear on the news about the financial crisis that Greece is in, I guess in American we think it doesn't matter it isn't effecting me. But once you are here and see it for your self. WOW. The Greeks are very effected by it. But not nearly as bad as all of the immigrants. Many of the people in Athens are from Afghanistan, Iran and Pakistan. They come from there homes to Europe seeking a better life. But I would think that it is worse. I talked to one guy from Afghanistan he has ben in Athens for six yeas the first four years he was in Athens he lived on the streets. to me it doesn't sound like it would be better. but what do I know. I am so privileged where I live. In America I never have to go to bed hungry to sleep in a park bench. I am so privileged to be a American! One encouraging thing is all of the Afghans that I have talked to Love America and Love the Army and are thankful for what we are doing in Afghanistan.

Most of the work we are doing here in Athens Is working with different organization that are working with the Immigrants and homeless people. (2 of the 3 organizations that I have worked with are American based and the U. S. embassy and some of the Greek churches supplies one of the organizations with clothing for the families) Most of the time the people come to these places at certain times and we would feed them and meal and share the gospel with them. One of the organizations is for families with children and another one is for single men. It is encouraging to see these organizations at work and work along side them and see the people get fed and even more important hearing about Jesus. Most of the people from Afghanistan say they are muslim, but they do not actually practice.

Please be praying for Greece and the hard financial situation that there are in. Also pray that God would give us the strength to keep going strong this the ministers. Also when I see this it reminds me to pray for my country because I do not want to see my country go through what Greece s going through.

Thank you for your prayers

Last Week in Italy

Happy New Year!
This year has already be a very exciting year so far! last week in Cosenza we did a youth camp at a church! It went really well, everybody in my team had a chance to speak at it and the main topic of the week was on hearing Gods voice. I did my talk on Prayer. We also got to do a lot of street evangelism with the youth as well. For some of them it was the first time they did street evangelism but they did a good job. We got to have so really good conversations with the youngsters. And one of our guys played the guitar and he got the play with some young people that and build a connection with them. We didn't convert any to Christ but we got to show Gods love for them through us and just show them that having a relationship with Gods isn't boring that some people make it out to be. We could show them its so much fun and we are really sincere in what we believe. One time me and some of the guys started talking about poker. and I always have a deck of cards with me (you never know when you have time for a game of Euchre) and I got out my cards and showed them how to shuffle and do the bridge and do the spring. because in Europe most people don't know how do shuffle that is just a american thing, and it opened a door to talk with them.

This week we are getting to do a lot more street evangelism and pass out tracts and talk to those that will listen to us. It is real good because the people in Italy are very open and a lot of them know of God because  of the Catholic church but they don't know about a real relationship with Jesus Christ.

Thank you all of your prayers! I am also praying for all of you that God will bless in this New Year.

With Christ

Jayson
